World
War Z
Rating: PG-13 Run
Time: 1 hour and 56 minutes
I watched this movie a few days
ago; I thought that Brad Pitt had an excellent performance. The basic premise
of the movie is Brad Pitt’s character; Gary Lane UN investigator is traveling
the world trying to find a cure for the zombie outbreak. Time is against him because he must find a way
to spot or slow down the outbreak before this family gets hurt. This is a
classic action/ apocalyptic movie; it has scenes that demonstrate a zombie apocalypse
perfectly.
Pros: Great cast, Brad Pitt and James
Dale had a perfect connection the whole movie. Well-executed scenes, the movie
has very well directed scenes for example the when they were in the city when
the first outbreak happened. Fantastic visuals, the large panning shots of
Jerusalem’s Wall made the outbreak look more realistic.
Cons: The make up for the zombies was
not that great, after watching the walking dead we have a certain idea of what
zombies should look like, the ones in World War Z did not deliver. The second problem is the movie didn't stick
to the book that much, the book had some chapters that would have been great
for the movie, but instead they were cutout.
Overall: This is a good movie, it has a
flaw or two, but I would watch this movie again. If you have read the book, you
may not like it as much.
